SFS School, Dhemaji, held the parents” day celebration on Nov. 05, in its campus premises with a lot of pomp and gaiety. Over 2500 parents gathered to watch the show of more than 30 programmes by children that took three hours to complete as scheduled. The stunning performance of children supported by LED background screen reflected a live-show for the first time in Dhemaji. Most Rev. Michael Akasius, the bishop of Tezpur, honoured the chair of the Chief Guest and Mrs. Roshni Aparanji Korati, IAS, deputy commissioner of Dhemaji, Shri Nilesh Tryambak Sawakare, IPS, the Superintendent of Police, Dhemaji, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Mappilaparambil, MSFS, the regional superior of Dibrugarh Region, and Rev. Fr. George Thomas, the provincial councilor in charge of education, were the guests of honour. The Annual Magazine of the School “Golden Rainbow – 2018” was released on the occasion by the deputy commissioner and the first copies were handed over to Bp. Akasius and Fr. Mappilaparambil. Eighteen students of the School, who secured Black Belt 1st Dan in TaeKwonDo, were honoured by the Superintendent of Police and Fr. Thomas together and Fr. Mappilaparambil awarded the Star Students. Officers from various departments of the district, principals and heads of institutions from around Dhemaji, members of the advisory board and district press council members were present as well on the occasion. The three-hour extravaganza by the students set the due standard for the days to come and won the applause of everyone present.
